SOUL TO THE RESCUE !

In my prior blog I talked about the Soul making an alliance with Greater Media's Philadelphia-based radio stations and the Philadelphia Children's Alliance against child abuse. Well; Soul is at it again with helping something greater then themselves.

When writing this blog I make sure to look on the Philadelphia Soul's official website to understand and gain more knowledge on what they are doing for there community and also more information about ticket sales and promotions.

When entering their website today the first thing that came up was information about the new cause there are supporting.

If you haven't heard already, many catholic schools in Philadelphia and the surrounding Counties are closing due to financial restraints, which affects more than 6000 students. St. Hubert Catholic school for girls will have make a decision on February 15, to whether or not they will be closing down for good!  Soul is making this statement,
"SOUL OWNERS OFFERING $100,000 TO HELP SAVE ST. HUBERT'S
THROUGH FUNDRAISING PLAN

If you know anything about the Soul organization; you know they back up what they stand for, and they are always trying to make the city of Philadelphia a better place.

So listen to this, a statement from the Philadelphia Soul official website states:

"As owners of the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football Team, they make the following pledge: If the St. Hubert's community purchases 1,000 tickets to any 2012 Soul game, they will donate $15,000 to help save St. Hubert's Catholic High School, if 2,500 tickets are purchased, they will donate $40,000 and if 5,000 tickets are purchased, they will donate $100,000 all to help save St. Hubert's."

PLANK

New season, new beginnings, new coach!

The Soul is probably one of the luckiest teams in the AFL at the moment. Doug Plank are new head coach was a former safety and NFL coach. He spent 8 years playing with the Chicago Bears.
Plank was also the first Bears’ rookie to lead the team in tackles, after being drafted out of Ohio State University. And he participated in three consecutive Rose Bowls under legendary coach Woody Hayes.

Doug Plank was one of the Bears favorite! Defensive coordinator and the Philadelphia Eagles' former head coach Buddy Ryan named a defense after him called "46 defense," for his aggressive style.

To see how Plank puts his former NFL knowledge into this AFL team just click this link >> TICKETS << and get tickets to see this high performing team!

"Chicago Bears free safety #46 Doug Plank stops Earl Campbell dead in his tracks..."
"The Hit Man"

"...Plank was considered one of the hardest hitting safeties in the game.  Plank and Gary Fencik were dubbed “The Hit Men”, a fact referenced by Fencik in 1985's The Super Bowl Shuffle."

STAND UP. TAKE THE PLEDGE!

The Philadelphia Soul made an alliance with Greater Media's Philadelphia-based radio stations and the Philadelphia Children's Alliance to announce their new partnership to bring justice for all children who have been sexual abused.

Monday, January 30th, STAND UP Radio Rally will be launched for a one day awareness campaign for recent headlines related to the sexual abuse of children.

This team proves that not only are they a great arena football team, but they are willing to stand up for something so serious as sexual abuse against children. With that being said, their STAND UP. TAKE THE PLEDGE! campaign stated that with a purchase of a soul home opener ticket April 1st, $15 will be donated to raise awareness towards this great cause.

So why don't you, STAND UP. TAKE THE PLEDGE!
THE PLEDGE
If I see, hear, suspect, or in any way become aware that a child is being abused, I will not keep silent. I will have the courage to help that child break free of the silence, secrecy and shame that should never define a child’s life.

Stand Up Radio Rally Press Conference Video

"With recent headlines dominated by very public reports of child sexual abuse, we were inspired by the positive work of the Philadelphia Children’s Alliance on behalf of children in our city who are victims. Our organizations are joining together to ask people to stand up and take a pledge to report abuse... And, that is the first step toward healing and justice for these children." - Ron Jaworski (ESPN Monday Night Footballbroadcaster and Soul co-majority owner)

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Bon Jovi and Craig A. Spencer got a taste of what arena football is all about on April 13, 2003. Seeing how this new way of football can be done they decided to bring it to the city of Philadelphia. Hoping that this team can give the city some much needed brotherly love and a new look on another professional football franchise.

Bon Jovi and Spencer was approved by the Arena Football League Board of Directors on July 10, 2003. Just over a few months the roster started to form with its first player, OL/DL Dwayne Missouri. At that moment the big time names of this organization such as, Bon Jovi, Craig Spencer, Richie Sambora, and Ron Jaworski announced to the city that the Philadelphia Soul Arena Football team will be the new member of the Philly sport community.

This blog is created to promote a great team and to let followers know any new information about tickets, promotions and events.
